Of the many pioneering projects that Naval Godrej kicked off during his time, the Indian Machine Tools Exhibition (IMTEX) remains to be one of the longest and most successful of all. The IMTEX planning committee was chaired by Naval Godrej for many years. The tri-annual event started in 1969 on the home turf of Godrej & Boyce, Vikhroli, and saw overwhelming participation from the machine tool industry at home and abroad over the years. Here is an invite from the second IMTEX that took place in 1972 in Vikhroli at the Godrej & Boyce premises. The exhibition also marked the golden jubilee of the Indian Machine Tools Manufacturers' Association. The invite includes an interesting sitemap of the exhibition space. Notice how the manufacturing plants were arranged 50 years ago!
